Amber Cottage & "The Hospitality House" are ideal for a restful, quiet getaway close to lively Castlemaine.
We can accommodate up to 10 people: 2 in the new cottage studio and 8 in the lovely renovated house.
Continental self-serve breakfast is available if required. If you prefer to eat out, we can recommend many excellent local restaurants with reasonable prices.
The cottage studio is self-contained with a queen-size bedroom, TV, en-suite bathroom, and European laundry. Verandahs on two sides, facing west and east, offer privacy and sweeping views: delightful places to sit, in sun or shade, and relax with a book.
The house offers home-style, private accommodation. The three huge bedrooms, in a private wing, combine luxury and comfort and share a splendid new bathroom.
Guests have access to two private sitting rooms. The shared office space offers Austar TV (in the house only), a library, and tea and coffee facilities. A barbecue area is available on the outdoor deck.
We have a no-smoking policy indoors, and pets cannot be accommodated.
The house and studio are set in a lovely cottage garden which is surrounded by a 2.5-acre bush garden with views of the Chewton Bushlands. Chewton, on the edge of Castlemaine, is a charming, small town that developed as a result of the gold rust in 1851. Many of the buildings reflect this, as does the surrounding landscape.
The location is perfect: peaceful, quiet, serene. There are walking tracks and cycling paths. Bustling Castlemaine is a 6-minute drive away.
